Private TuitionViolin & Viola

Considering violin or viola lessons? Awesome! Whether you’re the parent of a talented pupil, a university student, or an accomplished adult amateur, private music lessons can be a tremendous source of joy, discovery, and growth. My lessons focus on historically informed use of the bow (especially for Classical and Romantic composers – Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Haydn), breathing, physical relaxation, and understanding intonation as a harmonic concept. Violists are also very welcome to have this sort of tuition, but I have not studied and do not teach viola repertoire as such.

Baroque violin lessons: Please contact Rachel Stroud if you are interested in Baroque violin lessons.

I am delighted to announce that from July 2021, I will have four slots available for violin lessons:
Tuesdays 7:30pm
Wednesdays 7:30pm
Saturdays 3:00pm
Sundays 6:00pm

All times in UK time

Lessons can be either one hour or 90 minutes, and take place in my private studio in Girton, Cambridge (UK) or via Zoom. I most frequently teach in small bursts of 2-4 lessons, either for a “top-up” or to assist with exam, audition, or performance preparation. If you are interested in ongoing weekly lessons, this is also possible, but my availability is more limited so please get in contact to discuss your needs. If none of those times works for you, please get in contact with me and we might be able to work something out.

Please contact me at pmuldoon@umich.edu to express interest. My rate is £50/hour.
