Holistic Strings Course

What:
Four sessions for you and a companion to explore string playing through breath, body awareness, and listening. Sessions last two hours, with a tea break in the middle. You will have the option to meet once on your own during the week to continue to expand your awareness. You can expect a meditative, peaceful experience – a perfect way to relax before the week starts! You can join with a friend or let me find a buddy for you. Enrolment for this course is limited to two people, ideally a lower and an upper string.

Curriculum:
Week 1: G major, E-flat major and breathing through long tones
Week 2: C major, f minor and subdivisions
Week 3: B-flat major, E major and sounding point
Week 4: Schubert Death and the Maiden – we will look at the opening of the 2nd movement to put together everything we have worked on in the first three weeks (double basses will play the cello part)
